District 57 has several specialty clubs that focus on specific areas of interest to Toastmasters. Specialty clubs generally require that members achieve a Competent Communicator award to become eligible, but check with the individual clubs for their specific membership criteria.

Leadership Club
If you are interested in Leadership, this is an ideal club for you. Several of the top District 57 officers are members of this club. If you are working as an Area or Division governor, you will find members here who can assist you. If you plan on presenting or chairing at a District conference, you will find members who have tackled that challenge. Everyone is very willing to pass along knowledge.
Speakers Forum
If you are ready for a skill leap, join Speakers Forum. This club is unique because of its focus on
- Longer speeches
- Round-robin evaluations
- Topic development
- Professional development
- Speaking engagements
- Video recordings
Tales & Tellers
The Tales and Tellers club specializes in the art of storytelling. The club location provides a nurturing and convivial setting. Members are encouraged to develop and perfect the art of storytelling.
A/V Toasties & Toastmaster Time TV
A/V Toasties is a club centered around the use of Audio/Visual tools with Toastmasters projects. We feature speakers on a variety of subjects from use of video equipment, lighting, and sound to use of PowerPoint and other visual applications. This is also a great place for you to receive feedback on your A/V presentations from knowledgable (perhaps geeky) Toastmasters with a passion for technology! A/V Toasties meets 7:00-8:30 p.m. the first Thursday of every month at Electrical Reliability Services, 6900 Koll Center Parkway, Pleasanton, CA. (Map)
Look for the signs to direct you to the meeting place.
A/V Toasties Flyer
The mission of Toastmaster Time TV, for those of you not familar with the show, is to give D57 members the chance to speak on television in a TV studio. It's very different from the club experience, as speakers are challenged to present to bright lights, with no audience feedback, in a structured TV show format! Sounds tough, but our speakers are all happy with the experience.
Heart2Heart Toastmasters
(Formerly known as Pillow Talk.)
A specialty club focusing on relationships and communication for couples and singles. Open to all!
The club meets the 2nd Saturday night of each month from 7-9 pm at St. Paul's Towers, 100 Bay Place in Oakland.
For more information, please contact Lynette Kral, VP-PR at Lkral@contracosta.edu or 510-223-2062.
Prep Squad
The Prep Squad is a club that works to prepare our members for Contests and other high-stakes speaking opportunities. We use a rigorous and often riotous round-robin evaluation format to give each other the support and encouragement to do our very best.
Membership requirements are very strict. We do require a minimum of an Advanced Communicator Bronze award. Prospective members must attend two meetings and participate in the evaluation process. New members are inducted only after a unanimous vote of approval from all members.
For more information, contact District Governor Dennis Dawson at dg@d57toastmasters.org.
